WAKING LIFE
With Waking Life I delved into the surreal realm of dreams, specifically what it might feel like to be lost in the labyrinthine corridors of an infinitely long dream. Through hauntingly ethereal visuals, I captured the unsettling transformation as the world disintegrates for the trapped dreamer, mirroring the decay of their perception and memories of the life they led while awake. The drapes, obstructing headwear and out of place details echo this loss of self, in addition the deconstructed garments made up of various parts and objects blend into one another with with a disconcerting edge, symbolizing the blurred boundaries of a waking and dreaming life. As the model navigates this haunting dreamscape, their disintegrating garments become a metaphor for the fragility of the human psyche.
